Websites and Ecommerce for Malaysian Businesses
Good websites, WooCommerce vs Shopify, timelines, and costs.
A business website has one job
Turn a visitor into an enquiry. That is it. Most Malaysian SME sites are brochures that describe the company and then leave the visitor to work out what to do next, which is why they get traffic and no leads.
The test is blunt: can a stranger land on any page, understand what you sell, see roughly what it costs, and contact you in under thirty seconds on a phone? If not, no amount of ad spend fixes it. Checklist version: what makes a good business website.
Website or landing page
They are different tools. A website serves everyone who arrives, from any source, at any stage. A landing page serves one campaign, one audience, one action, and removes everything else including the navigation.
If you are running ads, you usually want both. Sending paid traffic to a homepage is one of the most common ways to waste a budget. See website vs landing page and high-converting landing pages.
Cost and timeline
Price tracks scope, not page count. A handful of pages with a contact form is a different job from a catalogue with payments, stock and shipping rules. Timelines slip for one reason far more than any other: content. The build is rarely the bottleneck, the copy and photos are.

Ecommerce: WooCommerce or Shopify
Shopify is faster to launch and easier to run, and you pay a monthly fee plus transaction costs forever. WooCommerce is cheaper to own and far more flexible, and you carry the maintenance. Neither is wrong. The right answer depends on whether you would rather pay in money or in attention.
Compare properly: WooCommerce vs Shopify and mana lebih bagus. On the Malaysian payment side, payment gateways for online stores. For traffic, ecommerce SEO.
Speed is a revenue issue, not a technical one
Most Malaysian buyers arrive on a phone, often on mobile data. A site that takes five seconds loses a share of them before it renders anything, and you paid for every one of those clicks if they came from ads.

When to redesign, and when not to
Redesign when the site cannot do its job: it does not work properly on a phone, you cannot edit it without a developer, it is slow, or it describes a business you no longer run. Do not redesign because you are bored of it. A full rebuild resets whatever search equity the old pages had, and if you change URLs without redirects you lose it permanently.
