Diagnosis

Why SEO did not work for you last time

Most business owners who talk to us have paid for SEO before. Our founder has too: RM45,000 for a website that brought in RM200 in sales. When SEO fails, the cause is usually one of these six.

01

Keywords nobody buys with

What happened

The agency picked easy, high-volume terms. The ranking report looked good and the phone stayed quiet.

What we do

Every keyword is checked for buying intent before it goes into the plan. If a search is unlikely to turn into an enquiry, we leave it out.

02

Rankings reported, enquiries ignored

What happened

Position 8 moved to position 5, and nobody could tell you what that was worth in ringgit.

What we do

Calls, WhatsApp taps and form fills are tracked from the first month, so the report starts with enquiries.

03

Cheap links that cost you later

What happened

Bought links and spam directories gave a short bump. Then a Google update took it away, and more.

What we do

No link schemes. Authority comes from real Malaysian sites, listings and mentions. It is slower, and it lasts.

04

Lots of articles, no plan

What happened

Eight generic posts a month, none aimed at a real gap, often written by a tool with nobody checking.

What we do

Fewer pages, each built to answer something your buyers search, and every one checked by a person before it goes live.

05

Stopped in month three

What happened

Nobody explained that SEO costs come first and results come later, so month three looked like money wasted.

What we do

We show the early signals from month one, and put them in writing at day 90. See our 90-day commitment.

06

A site that could not convert

What happened

Traffic landed on slow pages with no clear next step, so visitors left without asking anything.

What we do

We fix the pages people land on first, with tracked WhatsApp and call buttons, before pushing for more traffic.

How we run SEO

Our 90-day commitment

What you will see in your first 90 days of SEO

We will not guarantee page 1. Nobody controls Google, and agencies that promise it are guessing. What we commit to in writing is the work, the tracking and an honest read of the numbers.

Day 1 to 30

Foundation done

Technical fixes shipped, enquiry tracking live on calls, WhatsApp and forms, and the keyword map agreed with you.

Day 31 to 60

The early signals

New pages getting indexed, impressions climbing and average position improving in your own Search Console, usually before clicks move.

Day 90

A written review

Impressions, positions and enquiries from organic search, which way each is heading, and the plan for the next quarter.

If it is not working at day 90, you hear it from us first

If the early signals are not moving, the day-90 review says so in writing and explains why. You can stop there with no penalty, and you keep the site, the content, the Search Console and the data. A brand new domain moves slower, and we tell you that in the audit, before you sign anything.

Cost

How much do SEO services cost in Malaysia?

Our SEO retainers start at RM3,000 a month for a single channel. Multi-channel work that includes SEO starts at RM8,000. The full breakdown is on the pricing page, not behind a quote form.

Across the Malaysian market the range is wide. Freelancers typically charge RM1,000 to RM3,000 a month. Boutique agencies run RM3,000 to RM8,000. Established agencies start around RM8,000 and go up from there. Below roughly RM15,000 to RM20,000 a month in total marketing spend, hiring an agency usually beats building an in-house team.

Four things that move the price

How competitive your terms are. Ranking nationally for a head term needs more content and more authority than ranking for one service in one city. A dentist in Kajang and a nationwide insurance comparison site are not the same job.

The state of your site. A site with clean structure, fast pages and real content starts months ahead of one that needs rebuilding first. We tell you which one you have in the free audit, before you commit.

How much content is missing. Most SME sites have five pages and a contact form. Ranking for anything beyond your own brand name means building the pages that answer what people actually search.

Whether you need authority. Content alone moves a new domain only so far. Earning mentions and links from real Malaysian sites is slower and costs more than writing, and it is usually what separates page two from page one.

If you want the long version of that trade-off — what organic actually buys, when it overtakes paid on cost per lead, and where it will never carry the load — we wrote it up separately: organic SEO services in Malaysia.

What a retainer at each level actually covers

Price follows scope, not company size. We charge the same whether you are a two-person shop or a group with five brands. What changes is how many channels we run and how fast we publish.

MonthlyScopeBest for
RM3,000One channel. SEO strategy, technical fixes, on-page work and a published content schedule. Monthly report.A business testing whether search is worth funding at all.
RM8,000SEO, paid ads and social run together by one team. Strategy and consulting, content and campaigns, report plus a review call.A business that already knows search works and wants the funnel joined up.
RM15,000Everything above, plus outsourced CMO, every channel at priority, weekly reporting.A business where marketing needs an owner, not a vendor.

Ad budget is paid straight to Google or Meta. We take no markup on it, and there is no long-term contract. The exact publishing volume at each level is written into your scope before you sign, not left vague — that single line is what separates a real SEO quote from a hopeful one.

Where RM3,000 sits in the Malaysian market

OptionTypical monthlyWhat you are really buying
FreelancerRM1,000 – RM3,000One person’s hours. Cheap and often good, but capacity caps out and there is no cover when they are busy or ill.
Boutique agencyRM3,000 – RM8,000A small team with a process. Enough hands to publish consistently, senior enough to make the calls.
Established agencyRM8,000 and upDepth and specialists. Often a junior does the day-to-day work while the senior name sits on the pitch deck.
In-house teamRM25,000+ in salariesPlanner, web developer, ads specialist, designer and a content checker. Before EPF, SOCSO and leave. Full control, and full exposure when someone resigns.

The honest read: below roughly RM15,000 to RM20,000 a month in total marketing spend, an agency beats building the team yourself. Above it, in-house starts to make sense and a good agency should tell you so.

Why two quotes for the same site differ by RM5,000

Almost always one of four things, and none of them is quality.

The cheap quote excludes content. Technical fixes and keyword research are quoted, writing is not. You find out in month two when nothing has been published.

Link building is counted as content. Paid directory links are cheap to buy and easy to bill. They also carry risk, and they are not the same line item.

One quote includes the rebuild, the other assumes your site is fine. If the site needs restructuring before anything can rank, that work has to sit somewhere.

Reporting is billed as a deliverable. A monthly report is not a service. It is proof the service happened.

Local search

Local SEO in Malaysia

If you sell to people in a specific area, most of your opportunity sits in the map results, not the blue links. That is a different job from national SEO and it moves faster.

Local work covers your Google Business Profile, the consistency of your name, address and phone number across every listing that mentions you, review volume, and location pages that are genuinely different from each other rather than one template with the town name swapped.

The most common problem we find is not missing pages. It is a business listed at two different addresses across three platforms, with no phone number on the profile, and no reviews. Fixing that costs nothing and often moves the map ranking within weeks.

Timeline

How long before SEO works?

On an established domain with existing authority, you usually see movement in three to four months and meaningful traffic by month six.

On a brand new domain it is slower, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling. Google needs to trust the site before it ranks it, and trust takes months regardless of how much you publish. We would rather say that upfront than four months in.

What you should see early, before rankings move: pages getting indexed, impressions climbing in Search Console, and average position improving even while clicks stay flat. Those are the leading signals. Traffic follows them, not the other way round.

Reporting

What you get every month

One report, in plain numbers. Which keywords moved and in which direction. How many pages are indexed and how many are still waiting. Impressions, clicks and average position from your own Search Console, not our dashboard. What we changed, and what we are doing next month.

You keep access to everything. Your Search Console, your analytics, your site. If you leave, nothing goes with us.

If a month goes badly, the report says so. A report that is green every month is not a report, it is marketing.

FAQ

Common questions about SEO pricing in Malaysia

How much do SEO services cost in Malaysia?

Across the market, roughly RM1,000 to RM3,000 a month with a freelancer, RM3,000 to RM8,000 with a boutique agency, and RM8,000 upward with an established one. Our retainers start at RM3,000 for a single channel and RM8,000 once ads and social run alongside search. Ad budget is separate and paid straight to the platform.

Is RM1,000 a month enough for SEO?

It buys a few hours of someone’s attention, which is enough to fix technical problems or keep a small site tidy. It is not enough to publish consistently, and publishing is what moves rankings. If RM1,000 is the ceiling, spend it on a one-off audit and fix things yourself rather than on a thin retainer that runs for a year without moving.

Why is your pricing public when most agencies hide it?

Because a quote form filters out the people who would have said yes and wastes a call on the people who were never going to. Company size does not change our price, so there is nothing to negotiate in private. The full pricing sits on the site.

Do I pay for SEO and Google Ads separately?

The management fee covers the work. The ad budget goes directly to Google or Meta from your own account, and we take no markup on it. If an agency quotes one combined number and will not break out the media spend, ask why.

How long am I locked in?

There is no long-term contract. SEO does need runway — three to four months before movement on an established domain, longer on a new one — so leaving at month two means paying for the setup and none of the return. We say that before you start, not at month two.

Can I buy local SEO only?

Yes, and for a business selling to one area it is often the right first spend. Local work covers your Google Business Profile, name, address and phone consistency across listings, reviews, and location pages that are genuinely different from each other. It moves faster than national SEO and costs less. The practical guide is here.

Do you guarantee page one?

No, and neither can anyone else. We guarantee the work, the reporting and an honest read at day 90. What we can show you is what the same approach has done elsewhere: a gold dealer that went from 55 organic visits a month to 14,100, and a professional services firm that went from 73 clicks in June to 966 in September. Both are on the results page with their sources.

Is a freelance SEO specialist cheaper than an agency?

On the invoice, yes. The trade-off is capacity and cover. One person can audit and advise well, but publishing volume, technical work and reporting every month is more than one person’s week. Below about RM3,000 a month a good freelancer is usually the better buy. Above it, you are paying agency money for freelancer capacity.

What happens to the work if I stop?

The pages, the content and the rankings stay with you. You keep your own Search Console, analytics and site access throughout — we never hold them. Rankings decay slowly rather than disappearing, but they stop compounding the month the work stops.

How is this different from buying content by the article?

An article has no job unless something sends it traffic and something catches the traffic it earns. A retainer buys the plan around the writing: which pages exist, how they link, what each one is supposed to rank for, and what happens to the visitor who lands on it. Articles bought by the piece usually sit unread. The longer argument is here.

The honest fit check

When SEO with us is not the right move

SEO pays back well in the right conditions and wastes money in the wrong ones. Do not hire us for it if:

  • ✕
You need leads this month. SEO builds over quarters. Start with Google Ads for demand now, then add SEO so organic gradually takes over from paid.
  • ✕
Your budget cannot carry six months. SEO stopped at month three is money spent on the foundation with nothing built on it. We would rather say that now than invoice you for it.
  • ✕
Your website cannot convert and you do not want it fixed. More visitors to a page that does not get enquiries only makes the waste bigger.
  • ✕
Someone promised you page 1 in 30 days. We will not match that promise, because it is not how Google works.
  • ✕
A direct competitor of yours already works with us. We keep one client per industry.

The free audit tells you honestly where you stand, including when SEO should wait.
