Accounting firm: 2 to 32 visitors a day from Google
An accounting firm was getting about two visitors a day from Google. Four months later it was thirty-two, and the firm’s name was appearing in search results 63,900 times a month. Nothing clever happened. We published what business owners were already searching for, and Google caught up.
Where it started
A capable firm with a quiet website. June: 73 clicks from Google in the whole month. Business owners searching things like business MSIC code or SOCSO employer registration were landing on government portals and forums, then hiring whoever they found next.
What we did
Audited what already existed first. Website, social accounts, Google Business Profile. Fix what works before building anything new.
Answered the compliance questions owners actually type. MSIC codes, SOCSO employer registration, the admin that every Malaysian business has to deal with and nobody explains plainly.
Published 209 new pages in four months, then went back and updated 146 old ones. Old content that already ranks is usually worth more than another new page.
Ran ads alongside. Search takes months. Ads cover the gap while it builds.
Content first, Google follows
| Month | New pages | Keywords ranking | Times shown in Google | Clicks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| June | 2 | 47 | 900 | 73 |
| July | 71 | 116 | 10,800 | 237 |
| August | 98 | 174 | 27,500 | 462 |
| September | 38 | 347 | 63,900 | 966 |
Read that table left to right, then top to bottom. The pages went up in July and August. The rankings and the clicks followed in August and September. That lag is the part most owners give up during — the work happens a month or two before the result shows.
Ranked #1 for terms owners search before they hire
The firm now sits at position one for business MSIC code and SOCSO employer registration. These are not vanity terms. Someone searching them is setting up or fixing a company, which is exactly when they need an accountant.
And 924 of the 966 September clicks came from people who had never typed the firm’s name. That is the whole job: being found by people who do not know you yet.
